“Working with Dr. Schwartz was an incredible experience. He’s kind, easy-going, and truly listens without judgment. Everything he shares is grounded in science, and he always takes time to explain the reasoning behind it. His feedback helped me find a more neutral and balanced way to approach my thoughts. I made more progress in a few months with him than I expected. I would have gladly continued if circumstances had allowed.
Dr. Schwartz helped me go from a place of having no skills or methods of handling my issues with mental help to a place where I feel can maneuver life's daily challenges with confidence. I went from being overwhelmed with anxiety on a daily basis to developing effective coping strategies that enable me to have more control over my thoughts and emotions.
I was skeptical about therapy until I met Dr. Schwartz. His blend of traditional and holistic methods genuinely works.
Dr. Schwartz's holistic approach has transformed my understanding of self-care. His guidance has been life-altering.
Dr Schwartz, I hope you are doing well. I just wanted to check in and let you know I am doing well and making great progress toward habituation of my tinnitus. I so appreciate your wonderful care. I wanted to let you know that I have recommended you to another friend of mine that has tinnitus if you are still open for additional patients. I will be meeting with him soon to give him more details.
I came to Dr. Schwartz for issues in my marriage which stemmed from deep-seated trauma and relationship / attachment issues rooted in my family of origin. With a combination of Dr. Schwartz’s biofeedback and psychodynamic methods, I was able to improve my ability to self-regulate my nervous system and reduce my emotional volatility and withdrawal when confronted with potentially triggering confrontations with my significant other. I credit Dr. Schwartz’s decades of clinical experience and wisdom for my progress. He is kind, respectful, professional, and open-minded, in addition to being a great listener and a highly-skilled clinician. I would strongly recommend him to anyone looking to improve his/her overall psychological well-being.
I've been struggling with migraines for years and biofeedback therapy is the first thing that's really helped. Beyond reducing my pain, it has made me a calmer person who's better prepared to manage life's challenges. I recommend working with Dr. Schwartz.
I have struggled with depression and anxiety for almost 30 years, and many treatments simply missed the mark. I tried various medications and therapists, but I wasn’t able to make significant progress in my mental health—until I began treatment with Dr. Schwartz. His approach, CEBT, has helped me make remarkable strides, and under his care, I am in a much better place than I ever was with any other treatment. The tactics, scripts, mantras, and meditative practices he has provided have worked wonders!
Dr. Schwartz’s approach to therapy has helped me understand the connections between my thought habits and my body. His use of objective measurements along with his patient approach to conversation have given me the tools to better manage stress and develop new ways to navigate the world. I would not be as good a parent, husband, or friend without gaining this perspective. I would recommend Dr. Schwartz to anyone looking to for a greater understanding of themselves and how they can live more presently and intentionally.
I was referred to Dr. Schwartz from my doctor because I was experiencing unusual chronic pain. Dr. Schwartz is very knowledgeable in dealing with these types of maladies. Not only was he able to treat me but would often recommend highly helpful books to read and home techniques to work on. I was able to free myself from the constant pain and fear that came with it. I’m now able to get back to doing all the things that’s important to me. I’m forever grateful for the knowledge he’s given to me.
Dr. Schwartz has truly changed my life. When I first started working with him, I was struggling with nightmares and flashbacks from a traumatic childhood event. Now, those have completely stopped. Through our work together, I realized I had been carrying guilt and shame that were never mine to hold. I now understand that what happened wasn’t my fault, and I didn’t do anything wrong.
My self-worth has improved significantly, allowing me to be more discerning in my relationships. I’ve also become more aware of my emotions throughout the day, which has helped me better manage my energy and overall well-being. Dr. Schwartz is incredibly supportive, perceptive, and kind. He has given me the tools to continue making choices that improve my quality of life, and I feel more optimistic about the future. I’m deeply grateful for his guidance and highly recommend him to anyone seeking meaningful, lasting change.
When I had my first consultation with Barry Schwartz, he told me that the focus of our future meetings would be to advise me how to have my body, mind, and spirit all working together for my benefit, something I had never heard in a health care setting before. His approach has turned out to do just that. I heartily recommend him to my friends who are seeking help through cognitive, emotional, behavioral therapy, especially if they have experienced physical pain at a stressful time in their lives.
I began treatment with Dr. Schwartz about four months ago and I have been very pleased with our progress. Before we met, I googled my symptoms (like many people do) and determined that I must be suffering from a combination of social anxiety disorder, attention deficit disorder and obsessive-compulsive disorder. I had read about biofeedback and wanted to try it because I hoped to avoid being prescribed medication to manage my symptoms. On my first visit, I shared my amateur diagnosis with Dr. Schwartz, and he kindly said something to the tune of “let’s just see...” Each week, he measures my stress levels, and we discuss what might be happening in my life that is affecting them.
In my brief time working with Dr. Schwartz, I have learned how to recognize when my body is entering a high stress state. He armed me with tools to self-regulate and taught me how to use them effectively. Between our meetings, I perform routine check-ins to clear my thoughts and practice healthy breathing exercises. I am less reactive and more intentional in my thoughts, feelings, and behavior. My focus has improved, I can recognize and discard intrusive thoughts, and my anxiety has lowered substantially. I am sleeping better, drinking less alcohol, and feeling more resilient. I am also physically healthier than I have been in recent years. Dr. Schwartz has empowered me to take control of my life.
Dr. Schwartz is always professional and is a great psychologist. He truly cares about the client and listens effectively. I have found his insight and support to be of great value. He is very knowledgable in neurofeedback techniques. My sessions with him have aided me immensely. He shares exercises and techniques to help me to overcome my concerns. I enjoy working with Dr. Schwartz and would recommend him.
Dr. Schwartz,
